title>   Sleeping Rough
medium>   performance
date>   2003
description>  I slept in a sleeping bag, wearing a toque, at a nightclub party and at an art fair, as if transposed from the street outside. I had speculated that the vulnerability of my oblivion might elicit a range of emotions from revulsion to empathy, and questions of appropriate behaviour and responsibility.
presentations>  14 November 2003, C Magazine party, Gladstone Hotel, Toronto; 15 November 2003, Toronto International Art Fair

>   HIGH NOON
medium>   site-specific performance using existing architecture, corner of University Avenue and Front Street, Toronto
time>   13 May 2004, noon, 20 minutes
description> A ritualized meeting in the central business district of Toronto. The site is a concrete pad ringed by metal chain and posts, on a grassy traffic island surrounded by office towers and a historic hotel. At high noon the performers converged on the site from separate directions, removed their street clothing to reveal boxing gear, and began to spar. A cyclist rang her bicycle bell to end each of three rounds. After the third round the performers re-dressed and went their separate ways.
